Almost there!

I can't yet write with a message of celebration marking the end of yet another semester as I still have one take-home exam to submit along with 4 more papers (two long and two short.) BUT, that doesn't mean that my mind isn't moving toward the beautiful festivities of Christmas that are coming so quickly!

In that light, I want to share two videos with you. The first is from the HCHC Christmas Party that we had on Monday. The campus "4 Tenors" got the celebration going with a few songs they serenaded us with. The second is one of an absolutely wonderful rendition of what might possibly be my most favorite Christmas song: In the Bleak Midwinter!

Blessings and Grace be with you in these coming days & may the Joy of the coming birth of Christ illumine what seem to be these otherwise cold and drearie days of winter!

Dan, Ian, John, and Christopher - What gifts they have!

In the Bleak Midwinter

In the bleak midwinter
Frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron,
Water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow,
Snow on snow,
In the bleak midwinter,
Long ago.

Our God, heaven cannot hold him,
Nor earth sustain;
Heaven and earth shall flee away
When he comes to reign;
In the bleak midwinter
A stable place sufficed
The Lord God Almighty,
Jesus Christ.

Enough for him, whom Cherubim
Worship night and day
A breast full of milk
And a manger full of hay.
Enough for him, whom angels
Fall down before,
The ox and ass and camel
which adore.

Angels and archangels
May have gathered there,
Cherubim and seraphim
Cherubim and seraphim
Thronged the air;
But his mother only,
In her maiden bliss,
Worshipped the Beloved
With a kiss.

What can I give him,
Poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd
I would bring a lamb,
If I were a wise man
I would do my part,
Yet what I can I give Him —
Give my heart.

And a little added bonus:
Recently, while watching the children of my classmate, we made Gingerbread Houses!

Glory to God for All Things!
